Simple Ways to Redecorate a Country Porch Look

When you want to change up the look of your country porch, you don't need to start from scratch. There are small and simple ways to make look, feel and effect seem different. We do it at the start of every outdoor season, but we have been known to change the effect at multiple times throughout the summer.

One thing I enjoy doing is to change the look with the changes in the weather. Spring and early summer are cooler and more comfortable. Mid to late summer get into the hot temperatures and Fall brings on cooler temps. The flowers that I use to add visual interest to my country porch match those temperatures. Violets and pansies appreciate the cooler weather, while impatiens and begonias enjoy the heat, then mums abound in the Fall.

But, there are more fun ways to redecorate. Something as simple as adding new tablecloths to each of your tables can bring out an entirely different effect. Rearranging your furniture to give you and your guests a new view can also add a wonderful new dimension.

Get several seasonal garden flags to change the effect. A “welcome spring” interchanged with a “summer fun” then switched to a “fall foliage” garden flag can make a nice redecorating touch.

If you do have flowers and plants, try changing their groupings. Add different heights to some to add visual interest. Turn an empty terra cotta pot upside down then place a planter on top to achieve height. Try placing smaller potted plants in front of a taller flowering plant. An easy way to change up the look of your country porch.

So don't panic if you feel bored with your same old look. Instead, think of small ways to add new life and charm to your country porch.
